Jami Adams, M.D., F.A.A.P

Dr. Adams grew up in the military, living across the United States and in Germany. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 1992 with a B.S., Cum Laude, in Biology. She earned her M.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 1996, and she continued her postgraduate training at U.T.M.B. as a Pediatric Resident in the Department of Pediatrics. After she completed her residency in 2000, she joined the 7th Medical Group at Dyess Air Force Base as a civilian pediatrician. In October 2004, Dr. Adams opened her solo practice in Abilene.

Dr. Adams has been a member of the American Medical Association since 1994, and of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 1996. She received her certification by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2003, and is currently a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition to being licenced by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Adams is also certified in Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She is also a member of the Taylor-Jones-Haskell Medical Society.

She is married, and has one son who is currently in sixth grade. Her interests include rock climbing, cycling, hiking and backpacking. She is a member of the Classical Chorus of Abilene, and she sings backup and plays bass in the praise band at First Christian Church. She is also an Elder at First Christian Church.

Debbie Diener, R.N., C.R.R.N.

Debbie grew up in Abilene, Texas. Certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1977 and began her career working for local pediatricians. In 1992 Debbie graduated from Angelo State University with a degree in nursing and after successfully passing State licensure, she became a Registered Nurse. As part of the inaugural staff at the Hendrick Center for Rehabilitation, Debbie was instrumental as Nurse Manager and expanded her education to receive her certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.

Debbie worked as Dr. Adams’ nurse at the Dyess AFB Pediatric facility. Debbie is a member of the Association of Rehab Nurses, American Nurses Association, recently named to the AISD Health Advisory Board and is instrumental developing a Special Needs class in her church’s Sunday School. She is certified in Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Debbie is married and has two sons. She enjoys reading, piano and cross-stitching. She is currently involved in an acting role at the Abilene Community Theatre.

Scot Miller, M.Div.

Scot Miller graduated summa cum laude from HSU in 1981 with double majors in Bible and English and a minor in philosophy. He earned an M.Div. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky in 1984, after which he moved to Boston to do his doctoral work at Boston University in the philosophy of religion. He was ordained as a Southern Baptist minister by the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Cambridge, MA in 1985.

He taught in the fall 1987 semester as an adjunct lecturer in the Experimental College of Tufts University, and was an adjunct Lecturer in Philosophy at Merrimack College in the 1989-90 academic year. He joined the faculty of Hardin-Simmons University as in the fall of 1990. His greatest teaching honor came in 1996, when he received the Cullen Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Scot Miller has presented papers and participated in professional conferences in Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, El Paso, San Antonio, and Galveston. Two of his papers have been published in professional academic journals.

Scot enjoys traveling, skiing, scuba diving, and acting. He is a member of the Classical Chorus of Abilene and serves on its Board. He is also a member of the Taylor-Jones-Haskell Medical Alliance and serves as editor of their monthly newsletter, Vital Signs. In addition, he is an Elder and the Moderator at First Christian Church, Abilene.

Given his philosophical, theological, and academic background, it was only natural for him to become the Office Manager in his wife's pediatric clinic.
